On 24 September 2026, the Competition Authority’s Online Platforms Department took part in the meeting of the European Board for Digital Services in Brussels.
On this occasion, the Board discussed, amongst other things, the Commission’s recent announcements to strengthen child safety online, the role of the Digital Services Act (DSA) in strengthening election integrity in Europe and the importance of trusted flaggers.
The protection of young Europeans online has been a key priority for the Board since its creation. It welcomes the attention dedicated to strengthening the protection of minors in the digital environment in the proposal for an EU KIDS Act, presented by the European Commission on 17 September 2026.
The Competition Authority, as the Digital Services Coordinator for Luxembourg and a member of the European Board for Digital Services, takes a keen interest in the legitimate concerns of online platform users.
In this context, the Authority’s website provides concrete examples of how the DSA applies.
